It is the foundation from which all other genres originate. I wanted to use heavy percussion, bass, flute, vibraphone, flamenco guitar, and saxophone to help narrate my lyrics These are instruments rarely found in new music of today".

When asked the question, "What inspired your style as an artist?" Mia goes to say, "I wanted to incorporate the traditional with the non-traditional. I view music as a journey and an therapeutic experience, and I want to take my listeners to places not found in music today.
